What makes our location unique?
We are the source!
We don't source our coffee, we are the coffee farms! In 2017 we researched how to process natural coffee. We visited other farmers, the department of agriculture for coffee in Dominican Republic, and roasters. In 2018 we processed our coffee grown by local farmers and sent it off testing and received a grade specialty coffee 84-88%. We started a co-operative with a team of Pastors who are also coffee farmers located in La Malanga, Barahona in Dominican Republic.
At the end of 2019 we bought our first coffee farm and have planted 11,000 coffee trees as we continue to pay our family of farmers for coffee from our co-op. In total we farm over 55,000 coffee trees.
Our co-op of coffee famers currently consist of Pastor Nancy, her son Franklin, Pastor Oleini, and Pastor Jean-Roussel
We finally exported our first shipment of coffee in 2019. As of January 2023, we have produced over 10,000 lbs of coffee and have the potential to produce 50,000 lbs this year.
Dominican Republic, like many coffee producing countries, was devastated by 'leaf rust' disease. The year we purchased our farm, Dominican Republic dropped from producing 95% of its own coffee consumption to just 5%. Through our efforts, we have increased the income of farmers which has facilitated restoration of farms, families, and stimulated economy.
